May Festival of the Arts

The 30th Annual May Festival of the Arts is a celebration of the Arts all month long in Eureka Springs. It is a beautiful time of year to visit, the weather is nice, the flowers are blooming, and the events are noteworthy! Our little town is always colorful, you can be sure we outdo ourselves this month.

Heartstone Inn - May Festival

This is George Paige, the artist responsible for the art installation in our yard this month for the Yard Art contest, The Art of Play. You will find unique exhibits all over the Historic District.

The month starts off with the ArtRageous Parade through downtown. Expect many, many gallery special events, music shows, wine events, art classes, and Mother’s Day events. Check out the calendar of events. We’re positive you will find something that interests you!

One of the favorite events is the 27th Annual White Street Studio Walk will take place Friday, May 19, from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. Historic White Street is the working address of several local artists who will welcome the public into homes and studios to view their latest works. They will be joined by more than forty guest artists from the Eureka Springs area, who will show weaving, watercolors, jewelry, oils, pottery, stained glass, and much more.

A new event is the Eurekan Spectacle. It is an augmented reality based experiential app that allows users to witness a Shakespearean play at various real-world locations around Eureka Springs. The Eurekan Spectacle will go live May 1st with a launch party to follow on May 4th at 6pm in Basin Spring Park. Visitors will be directed to www.eurekanspectacle.com.

Hope you’ll come see us!

The Big Reveal!

Isn’t that what all of the home decorating shows call it? We’ve been busy this winter renovating the lobby, gift shop and check – in area. In some cases all the way to the dirt underneath! We’ve painted, plastered, uncovered a brick chimney, installed new flooring, new ceiling, pretty much an entirely new space! It’s very exciting for us, now this area matches the decor of our rooms. Hope you will come see for yourself. You’ve still got a few surprises to see for yourself!128  103 110 121

How about a tour?

The #2 attraction in Eureka Springs is the Tram Tour. You pick it up just a block from us, it travels the historic loop and provides you with a history lesson of how, why and when Eureka came to be. Beautiful homes, springs, and gardens are included on the tour in the open air trolley. Leave the driving to them!

Even if you’ve been here many times, I bet they will tell you something you didn’t know. It is twice every afternoon rain or shine, next time you’re here give it a try!

Heartstone Inn featured in Southern Lady Magazine

Southern Lady Magazine sent a writer to stay with us last year. The fruits of the effort have materialized. We are featured in their Autumn Issue on newsstands now!  A very nice article about Eureka Springs in the Fall. Where to eat, shop and stay (us).

It’s a beautiful magazine with decorating ideas, recipes, and lots of seasonal allure. We hope you’ll pick up a copy today!

Christ of the Ozarks statue turns 50

Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to the largest statue of Jesus in the United States! Many of you have enjoyed the Passion Play here in Eureka Springs which is where the statue is located on Magnetic Mountain. You can view it from many spots all around town, and then walk to the base of the statue to get a great photo of it. There is also a scenic overlook at the location to view the downtown and mountains surrounding us. Our statue is 67 feet high with an arm span of 65 feet.

Below is a great article about our statue, and the others throughout the world.
